While at the theater some woman fools around with this golden mask and cuts her face on it. During the movie these two guys, George and Ken, sit next to the two girls and get to know each other. In the film there is a similar scene where a guy puts on a mask (the same one only dirty) and it cuts his face. The woman gets up to go to the bathroom to clean her bleeding wound and turns into a demon (as does the guy in the movie within the movie). Her friend goes to check on her an is attacked and also becomes a demon. The movie doesn't change much from here on but it is kind of gory and some things don't make any sense, i.e. the helicopter crashing through the roof of the theater. It does have a strange ending for an Argento film though. I expected more when my friend recommended this film to me. I love Argento films but this wasn't very good. The best thing about it to me was the music by Claudio Simonetti(Goblin). The only recognizable actress in this film is Fiore Argento who starred in Phenomena, another Argento film. If you like films like The Evil Dead >:(= or its sequels Demons may appeal to you. I don't know where Argento went wrong here.
