Dark City (1998)

If you liked the Matrix you'll love this film. John Murdoch (Sewell) has just awoken in a hotel room with no idea who he is. He gets an anonymous phone call telling him to get out of the hotel as fast as possible becayse "they" are coming for him. He escapes the hotel but bumps into some fraky floating people that look like the cenobites from Hellraiser without the nails, chains, etc. His wife Emma (Connelly) goes to file a missing person report and speaks to Inspector Bumstead (Hurt) about why her husband is wanted. Murdoch keeps having these flashbacks about his childhood and Shell Beach and desperately tries to get there. He discovers that nothing in his life has existed and the city changes everynight along with it's citizens, they have memories implanted into their brains. With the help of Dr. Schreber, John sets out to stop the aliens with the telekenitic powers he has identical to theirs.

Dark City was awesome but not very scary. It was more of a psychological thriller, it really makes you think about your life like the Matrix did. It's such a disappointment for me that I didn't get to see it in theaters like I originally intended to. 5 Drops
